Why True Friends Are Important

Recently there have been certain things happening in my life that have made me realise the difference between true and fake friends. We all go through life thinking that the friends we have are always going to be there for us: however this isn't always the case. It's in difficult times that you realise who your true and fake friends are. Today I want to highlight for you what these differences are and how you can spot them in your friends. I'm not saying that if from this post you realise that some of your friends are fake, you immediately get them out of your life. However what I am saying is that you shouldn't be expecting these people to stay in your life forever because chances are it's not going to happen.

First of all, a true friend will always pick you up when you're down. Let's say, for example, something bad has happened in your life and you need your friends to comfort you and make you feel happy again. True friends will be there for you straight away and will be doing everything they can to make you feel happy. Fake friends might possibly text you to check that you're okay but probably won't necessarily be there for you in a way that true friends are.

Something else that shows who your true and fake friends are is when you and someone else (possibly another friend) fall out. Your true friends will either take your side and help stick up for you or won't take any side and will stick up for both of you. However, it's more likely that a true friend will take your side. A fake friend won't take your side and will take the other persons instead and definitely won't be sticking up for both of you. 

True friends are important because they stick around. They don't leave your side when you need them the most. Even if you're having a really bad day and want everyone to leave you alone, they stick by your side. In fact, they just stick to your side full stop. They never leave you. They just keep sticking to your side until they can't stick anymore. Which is never.

The truth is, true friends are a rarity these days. You go through life thinking that all the friends that you have are going to be your friends forever. But that's not true. Only your true friends are going to be your friends forever. It's your fake friends that will get out of your life at the first chance they get. But true friends don't. Even if they're given that option to leave; they won't. They'll never leave. Even if you ignore them for ages and treat them in the worst way possible at times, they'll always be your friend. They'll be there for you through the good and bad times. They'll be there at your highs and at your lows. They'll be there during your brightest days and your darkest hours. They've been there for you since day one. They're there for you 25/8. And they'll be there for you when you're no longer around. They'll keep your memory alive. They're a true friend.
